Amsterdam, Kingsday, April 29, 2026 - On this national holiday to celebrate
the 59th anniversary of Dutch King William-Alexander, the Willehalm
Institute Publishing Foundation in Amsterdam together with the Pim Fortuyn
Foundations in Rotterdam — organizers of the annual commemorations on 6 May of
the murder of Pim Fortuyn in 2002 and on 2 November of the murder of Theo van
Gogh in 2004 — announce that on May 6 coming, a petition calling for a
parliamentary inquiry will be made public to the House of Representatives of the
Dutch parliament in The Hague, and submitted once it has gathered enough
support.
The petition requests the House to give due attention to the transparency,
completeness, and integrity of the information and judicial proceedings
surrounding these events. It supersedes the earlier petition addressed to the
Public Prosecution Service requesting a renewed investigation into the murders
of these “Dutch Twin Towers”, which can be seen here and which will remain
available for viewing and co-signing until May 6.
During the commemoration on May 6 at the scene of the crime, the Media Park
in Hilversum, and at the statue of Pim Fortuyn in Rotterdam — dedicated safeguarding
the freedom of speech — the substantiated text of the petition will be
proclaimed, filmed, and thereafter made public. From that moment onward, all those
who cherish openness, democratic oversight, and confidence in the rule of law
will be invited to add their signature.
